. ~Prologue::~
Looking out into a misty arena, a dark figure watches a girl mount her horse, but she turns toward the grandstand, looking toward her instructor, who nods to her. The girl turns toward the barn, but the dark figure blocks her view. She shrugs and lifts her left foot into her stirrup, swinging her other leg over the saddle.
She looks over to where the training assistant is standing. "My crop," she says, and the assistant heads toward the barn.
Looking around the arena, the girl notices a set of poles. Nodding to them, she asks her instructor, “Are we training on the poles today, instead of the barrels?”
“Very good,” the instructor said, “you do want to do poles, right.”
“Yes,” the girl sighed.
The training assistant entered the arena, crop in hand. “Thank you.” the girl smiled her thanks.
~:: Chapter 1::~
Thirteen, finally, able to sit in the car alone and unattended, not that my parents care. My older brother, Cole, was able to do that a year ago. The majority of my presents were things that you would get at cheap stores. Oranges, pens, notebooks, maps, calculators, who would want one of those for their birthday? Anyway, I did get some really cool presents, like an I-tunes gift card, Nintendo Wii, and other cool stuff like that.
Anyway, when I finally got home, and my twin, Cody, ran into the house, to store his presents under his bed, I ran down to our barn, to see my horse, Nhyngina, a dun mare.
“Hey,” my friend, Alyssia, said, as I came into the tack room.
“Yo, Lissa,” I replied, taking off my Vans and sliding into my boots, “ how is Turbo?”
“He is great,” she replied, grabbing her horse’s halter
"Lissa," I said, nervously.
"Yeah, Nicki?" she replied.
"Do you think that you will do poles or barrels in the barn show tomorrow?" I replied, seeing my horse standing by the gate.
"I have no clue," the blond girl replied, "Turbo is better on poles, but I think that everyone wants to do poles."
"Jenny promised that I would be doing poles." I said, putting on my horse's halter.
Once I had tacked up my horse and walked her into the indoor arena, I overheard my instructor, Jenny, commenting on how it looked like it was going to rain.
Once Alylisa and I were mounted on our horses, we noticed that the mist was gathering. I looked at a tall girl who was leaning on the dirty wall of the arena. "Rachel," I said, "my crop please." Upon hearing myself, it sounded familiar, the mist, the way I asked for the crop, the dark figure standing in the corner, and the way the poles are set up. The barrels missing from the arena, all seems familiar, yet strange, as if it were a dream

I'm not done, but, I would like any comments/ suggestions.
