Sharptounge looked up at him. Her eyes shone with happiness. "Really?" she mewed in an unusually sweet and kind voice. "When I saw Featherpaw and Vulturepaw risk everything to say they truly loved each other I...I just realized how long I have loved you and how much," she purred. Excitement was barely detectable in her voice. She edged closer to Swiftstar. Their pelts brushed.

"Really?" the she-cat asked, suprised.
"Yes, really." the leader purred.
"When I saw Featherpaw and Vulturepaw risk everything to say they truly loved each other I...I just realized how long I have loved you and how much," Sharptounge said.
"We have a patrol to do." Swiftstar purred, looking at the she-cat.

Sharptounge purred loudly. She looked at the cat she loved. "Patrol? Oh, I thought Featherpaw and Vulturepaw went out. If I am with you it won't be so bad," she mewed, her voice dripped with honey. She licked Swiftstar inbetween his ears and got up.

"Morningwhisker," Swiftstar said, "can you stay here and keep an eye on Featherpaw?" Vulturepaw jumped as his leader turned to look at him. Now that Featherpaw and I are having a forbidden love, I'm gonna feel like this with everyone, he thought glumly. "Vulturepaw, can you get some fresh-kill for Featherpaw and then some for yourself?"
Vulturepaw's heart leapt. Now he had a reason from Swiftstar to go back into the medicine cat's den and see Featherpaw! A joyful smile glowed on his maw, but he soon stowed it away; if he seemed too happy or eager, the WindClan leader might get suspicious.
The tabby tom gave a curt nod, then turned on his heels and raced over to the fresh-kill pile, snatching up a plump vole. He turned back around quickly and galloped toward the medicine cat's den. Slipping through the entrance with his heart pounding, he walked over to Featherpaw and set the fresh-kill at her paws, his amber pools shining.
"Here, Featherpaw," Vulturepaw mewed, trying to keep his voice calm and at the right level. "Swiftstar told me to bring you some fresh-kill, and then I can go get some for myself." He turned around and almost leapt out of his pelt; Featherpaw's father! He had forgotten about Mudpelt...What would he do to him if he ever found out about the forbidden love Vulturepaw and Featherpaw were having? Featherpaw was Mudpelt's daughter!
"Oh, um, h-hi, Mudpelt," Vulturepaw stammered, his head and tail low, ears drooping, and eyes staring at the ground. Oh no; why did he have to be so obvious?! Quickly, the apprentice left the den and returned with a mouse for himself. He settled down in front of Featherpaw and bit into his meal. He could feel the gazes of the cats standing around him staring unblinking at him, wondering why he was acting so strange. But Morningwhisker and Sharptongue knew. What was Vulturepaw going to do? He didn't want to disappoint Swiftstar, his leader and mentor, and get picked on by everyone else, but he also didn't want to let go of Featherpaw.
Gazing skyward with misty eyes, though the ceiling of the medicine cat's den obscured his view of the clouds and bright blue color, Vulturepaw silently prayed pleadingly, Please StarClan, help me!

Featherpaw lied there licking her shoulder slightly in her moss nest as the others were around her. Mudpelt hissed in anger, "The next time I see a dog I'll rip it's fur off!" Featherpaw laughed a bit, "If it doesn't get you first." Mudpelt flexed his claws, "Like it could?"
Featherpaw saw Vulturepaw come in and set a vole at her feet. "Here, Featherpaw," "Swiftstar told me to bring you some fresh-kill, and then I can go get some for myself." Featherpaw did a slight nod and smiled.
"Oh, um, h-hi, Mudpelt," Vulturepaw said. Mudpelt looked at him for a second then walked out of the medicine cat den and went to the fresh-kill pile for his own meal.
Featherpaw saw the look on Vulturepaw's face. She had been having the same thinking. She gave a sigh. Bite into her vole and looked up at the sky. Her blue eyes were light with so many feelings and so many confussion.

Morningwhisker looked at them, then up at Mudpelt, walking out of the den. She sighed, then looked at Featherpaw. "What herbs should I get? You seem to be acting much better. Maybe if I try hard enough I can think of an excuse for you two?"
The golden she-cat had no objection to Featherpaw and Vulturepaw's love, and happened to like apprentices. She didn't want them to get into trouble, she thought.

"What herbs should I get?" Morninghisker asked, making Vulturepaw jump a bit. But his nervousness had died down some now that Mudpelt had left. "You seem to be acting much better," the golden femme commented, speaking to Featherpaw, who seemed to be just as afraid and deep in thought as the tabby tom she loved. "Maybe if I try hard enough I can think of an excuse for you two?"
Vulturepaw's head shot up from where it had been resting on his crisscrossed front paws as he heard Morningwhisker say what she just had. It was then that he remembered that she had been one of the cats who had been there to hear and see everything when he and Featherpaw had admitted their love for each other. Wow, was it really that short a time ago? he thought distantly. It seems like it happened two moons ago...
He looked over and blinked his amber eyes gratefully to Morningwhisker, beginning to breathe more slowly and calmly now that things were falling into place and starting to look better and better. "Oh, would you do that for us Morningwhisker?!" he meowed loudly, forcefully keeping his voice at least below a yowl. "Thank you so much!" He quickly rose to his paws and dashed forward, pushing his muzzle into the fae's chest fur. "If Swiftstar ever found out..." He didn't finish the sentence - he didn't even want to say it.
((Hey Lights of the Sea, could you please go onto Unexpected Danger? 'Cause you haven't in awhile, and there are a couple or more things that need replying to. Heehee.))

"What herbs should I get?" Morninghisker asked, Featherpaw snapped out of her day-dreaming stage. "You seem to be acting much better,Maybe if I try hard enough I can think of an excuse for you two?" Featherpaw stared at her gratefully. At least they knew one cat would help them.
Featherpaw was more enjoyed to see how Vulturepaw was so happy and jumping around. "Oh, would you do that for us Morningwhisker?!" he didn't even wait for her reply. "Thank you so much!" Then he said,"If Swiftstar ever found out..." Featherpaw sighed she didn't even want to know the rest of that sentence.
Featherpaw sat up and horrible pain shot in her shoulder. Her paws went from under her and she fell back down on the grass and moss. The fresh-kill had given her more energy but her shoulder wasn't going to cooperate. She kissed in rage of the pain.
"I need Goldenrod! Please, now it should help this pain!" Featherpaw shut her eyes tight and pulled out the completely blood-red socked cobwebs. She dropped it on the ground and licked her shoulder as softly as she could with out putting pressure on it. "I'll need more cobwebs."
She opened her eyes and looked at the shoulder. It was red and ragged torn. Worst then she thought it was. It was even a bit swollen. "It's infected I'll need Horsetail and Marigold leaves. We are low so don't bring me a lot of it, I'll be fine we'll need the other herbs for the other cats. Who knows what will happen, besides the clan can do with out me for a while."
She licked her shoulder again and waited for the herbs. "They have to be chewed before applied." She said, her eyes were closed to help the pain again so she didn't know if anyone heared or if she was alone.

"Oh, would you do that for us Morningwhisker?!" Vulturepaw said, loudly and happily. "Thank you so much!"
Morningwhisker purred. "That's no problem. First I'll need to take care of Featherpaw, though," she meowed. "And I'll need to think of an excuse."
"I need Goldenrod! Please, now it should help this pain!" Featherpaw mewed, seemingly in distress. She closed her eyes. Morningwhisker hurriedly bounded over to the stock of herbs and carefully looked at them all, before deciding which was which. She pulled out some goldenrod.
"I'll need more cobwebs," the medicine cat apprentice continued. "It's infected. I'll need horsetail and marigold leaves. We are low so don't bring me a lot of it, I'll be fine we'll need the other herbs for the other cats. Who knows what will happen, besides the clan can do with out me for a while."
The young warrior quickly pulled out some cobwebs, horsetail, and marigold and added them to her pile of goldenrod. She brought them over and quickly began to chew some of them, while getting some of the cobwebs ready to apply. The golden she-cat spat out the herbs, and pasted them on Featherpaw's wounds, before sticking on the cobwebs.
"Don't be silly," Morningwhisker said when she could speak again. "Our medicine cat is very busy. Of course the Clan needs you!"
She turned to Vulturepaw. "Here's an excuse. How about Swiftstar told me to take care of Featherpaw, and I instructed you to help? And you were in a great rush to prove yourself?" She shrugged. "Or is that too heroic or non-heroic?"
The young warrior looked at the apprentice, and she noticed the change in him from his usual, snappy personality. She fought down another purr while waiting for his answer.
((I can get on Unexpected Danger pretty soon. I actually have been on, it's just I haven't checked much. =P Yeah, I'm a little traitor.))
