Ashpelt had left camp, even though he had just gotten there. The gray tom cat padded along then smelt Oakpaw. Ashpelt's face grew sober and he nodded, he knew very well that Oakpaw wasn't the happiest apprentice in camp. There were more then one reason to this, not just his blindness but his flacky mentor. Ashpelt padded on til he saw the apprentice. He some what smiled and padded over. "Well going off on your own without a warrior isn't going to help you learn or get a warrior name any sooner, so let's just say you left with me." He mused in the apprentices ear his green eyes sparkling with enjoyment to be doing something rather then just walking around or worse just laying around.

Oakpoaw stumbled, "At least you arn't going to rat me out like Flashfire. I caught him with an enimy she-cat, I know they are in love, but, I can't prove it... so. I useally hunt on my own though. Cottenpelt wasn't a very good mentor...." every word spilled out fast, like he has given up, "Darkstar won't make me a warrior... And maybe something is stopping me. I mean, StarClan oviusly doesn't want me to be a warrior. I was born blind, and I got a metor who dosn't teach me anything, and since I was caught out of camp, my cerimony is delayed..." He closed his eyes, feeling miserable.

Ashpelt frowned."Flashfire...with a cat of another Clan?" he asked but shook his head, that didn't matter at least not right now. "You will become a warrior. Have you ever heard the story of the ShadowClan cat Blacksight?" Ashpelt asked swishing his fluffy tail as they went down the WindClan ShadowClan boarder.

Ashpelt slowed his pace so he wouldn't run out of breath while he was talking. "I'm surprised no one has told you before, but hey that means I get to tell you." He said and purred."Blacksight was born to two ShadowClan warriors, blind. Like you. He had two siblings a brother and a sister, who were not blind and who though tried their best just couldn't make him happy with his disablily. When the kits were old enough there were only two warriors left to mentor them. It was a bad moon for the ShadowClan cats. The leader, annoced that Black-kit's siblings would be apprentices but not him. They put Black-kit as the medicine cat apprentice. Black-kit was unhappy though. He grew angier with every passing day. One day his sister died. Many think he did it, however I don't think so. Anyway. Blackpaw was given her mentor. His mentor wasn't very clever though and tried to teach him with out making things to the capibily for him to learn. Blackpaw worked hard though. He got help from an old elder who was also blind. With the elder and his mentors help he grew stronger. He killed a fox. Blackpaw was made a warrior before his own brother, even though he was an apprentice to leave camp with out asking and with no one going with him. Blacksight was a clever warrior and used his blindness to his advatage. His hearing was said to be better then any cat in the past, and he could feel the slightest movment of a enemy cat in the ground with his paws. He learned the warrior code laws had been broken by the ShadowClan deputy, and the leader made him deputy! His name was changed to Sharpears. And after 7 moons the leader of ShadowClan was on his last life. He then lost his last life during a battle. And a blind cat, yes a blind! Cat became leader of ShadowClan! Sharpstar ruled with a strong hold of power and respect of his Clan until he became weak with age and his hearing gave way. He was still stong for a whole moon after he lost hearing, and then greencough hit and the proud leader lost his last life." Ashpelt finished the story and gasped for breath. he smiled though. He locked his green gaze on the apprentice as they walked, "So why can't history repeat it's self with you?...I help you train like the elder helped Sharpstar. I"m not blind but I know the things that will help you where your sight fails." he mused.

Oakpaw straghtened up and held his head high, "Really! You mean it Ashpelt! You are the greatest cat to grace ShadowClan!" Oakpaw rubbed his mussle into Ashpelts fur. His sitless eyes showed life and joy. The glassy cover that shaded his eyes were gone, and never to return. He wasn't blind, he could see. He could see that Ashpelt was a great cat to look up to... And he knew, that Ashpelt would never think of his blindness. He trully was a friend.
{{Do you think they should hunt together now?

ooc:// Yeah they can. Is he really not blind anymore? Or does he just not feel blind anymore?
Ashpelt let a purr rumble in his throat as the ginger apprentice rubbed into his fur. "Yes really!" he laughed. Ashpelt had never been so kind to another cat, Oakpaw most have been special, a close friend. He Looked over to the side as his green eyes caught the sight of the pine trees. He knew there was prey close. "Stop and take a long wiff, so you smell anything?" Ashpelt asked.

ooc:// m'kay had to make sure.
Ashpelt smiled."Good. It's thrush. You can tell because the scent is more..how would you say it, more of a pine wood and lake water scent. They go there more then the squrriles so they smell of it stonger. Now, for you your going to have to souly do it on scent. Walk softly on your paws and once you think it's about a tail-lengths scent away, leap where you have scent the prey. If it gets away don't worry about it, because there is plenty of prey and we'll just try again." Ashpelt instructed him and sat down, giveing the clear sigh that he wasn't going to help him anymore. If you wanted to learn you had to learn first hand. Ashpelt swayed his fluffy tail and smiled.

}}I noticed that it is easyewr to put writeing in bold, so, I will do what you do.
Oakpaw nodded and padded up to where the sent was, and slunk down, he crawled forward, then, amouse bolted infront of him spookeing the thrush away. As he padded back, the thrush peeped in the tree mockingly, as he padded back to Ashpelt, "I-I didn't know-- I diddn't smell the mouse..." He Meowed.

"Don't worry about it. You were to locked on the thrush. Not you want to focus mostly on your prey but keep your nose open to other scents to, and feel the vibations in the earth, even a mouse makes them. I even do this. Some animals are to stupid to so it." Ashpelt meowed and then stood up and walked two-fox lengths away. He stood and watched the apprentice, to see if he could locate his new location. Ashpelt didn;t make a sound, even his breath would be hard to pick up, but he did shuffle his paws, like any nervous opposing cat would do.

Oakpaw walked into the undergroth and then, he sensed something. It was the mouse that ruined his earlyer attac. He bolted foward and knocked the mouse sensless. Oakpaw tumbled, and started at the mouse. The mouse headed over tward Ashpelt. He chased it down a few tail lengths over the border, but stopped it, "Look I caught it!" He said, his voice slightly muffled with the mouse in his mouth. He dropped it at Ashpelt's feet.

Ashpelt smiled widely. But he was concerned about Oakpaw running over the boarder. He looked around with narrowed green eye. No WindClan cat was near so he looked back at the ginger apprentice. "Wonderful job! Now you went over the boarder however. If it happens again someone might not be here to be your eyes and it would be to hard to smell a WindClan or any cat on their own territory so you'd have to be very still and fell the vibrations on the ground to see if you need to bolt away or not. Understand?" Ashpelt asked, flicking his tail.
