Vulturepaw was about to walk into Swiftstar's den after his leader's acceptance, but Sharptongue came barreling into camp, yowling Swiftstar's name in alarm.
The ThunderClan leader instantly shot out of his den to see what was the matter. "What?" he asked intently.
Sharptongue, between gasping breaths, replied, "I saw something on border patrol. ShadowClan..." The calico she-cat rested her steady gaze upon Vulturepaw.
Vulturepaw's heart leapt into his throat as Sharptongue stared at him. What did she know that she shouldn't? If she blabs one word about anything, he thought angrily, she won't be knowing much anymore. He jumped a bit, surprised with himself. Vulturepaw always said those kinds of things, whether it was to himself or to another cat. He always wanted to do things he knew he would never be forgiven for. But why? He knew why. He couldn't ignore it, burning inside him. He wanted power, and he was willing to go to great, disgraceful lengths to achieve his dreams. The forest had better face it; Tigerstar was back. Somehow, some way...he had found another way to return.

Featherpaw, knew she would have to hear later. They wouldn't be talking about it in the open any more. She looked over at Vulturepaw, her stomach twisted with tread. What was he up to? Why did she feel worried any way, she didn't care about the bossy fur ball...and yet she wanted to re-sure him every thing would be fine, Errr! She stood up and walked away tail high in the air, she walked into the medicine den and sorted her herbs again, looking over the at the other cats every few seconds, if there was something to know she wanted to know it right away.

Vulturepaw glared after Featherpaw as the medicine cat appentice went back into the medicine cat's den to sort out herbs. The young she-cat kept glancing back at the three cats every few heartbeats, as if she expected Vulturepaw to have done something awful and wrong. He let out a low, angry growl, curling his lip back to reveal his deadly fangs, but quickly hid them from sight again as he felt Swiftstar's gaze burning into his pelt.
Sharptongue knows, he thought with dread. She knows I've been going to visit ShadowClan. But it's only because of their leader! When I become leader - and I say when, not if - I want to be as good as theirs. But still...Vulturepaw looked up from his paws and into Sharptongue's seething pools. These badger dung cats won't even tolerate eating a mousetail before feeding the elders!

Featherpaw saw Vulturepaw's anger hiss, though not hearing it, She wrinkled her nose and kissed quietly. Dumb tom-cat! She did think he had done some thing but had no idea what. She let her claws scratch the floor then hide in her fur again. She placed a few herbs in a pile and looked over at the cats again.

Vulturepaw heard Featherpaw's irritated hiss from behind him. He looked over his shoulder at her with narrowed eyes. I wish I could wipe that smug smile right off her maw! he thought angrily.

Featherpaw looked at Vulturepaw, seeing that he was irritated as much as she, this gave her happiness, if he bothered her she would do it right back. She smiled her eyes filled with laughter. HaHa you dumb hot headed tom-cat! She twirled her tail and sat out side listening. Her eyes sparkled in the dazzling sun.

Featherpaw twirled her tail in a snooty way, and sat there, seemingly waiting for something. Probably to hear something, Vulturepaw thought in fury. She acts like I literally am Tigerstar!
He couldn't take it anymore. Vulturepaw let out an angry hiss and stalked over to Featherpaw, standing stiff-legged in front of her. He didn't care what Swiftstar would say, he just couldn't handle the she-cat sitting there thinking he was a villian when he was just another cat!
"Okay, what do you think?!" he demanded, glaring at her with his rage-filled amber eyes. "What are you thinking about me? But whatever it is, you're wrong!" He choked back tears at the thought of one of his own Clanmates suscpecting him of something awful. He didn't see going to visit ShadowClan as betrayal to ThunderClan. He wouldn't be doing it if he thought it was. So why did Sharptongue and Featherpaw think it was wrong?

Featherpaw lept to her paws, "I didn't say any thing! I don't think you did any thing horrible, i just think you did something!" Her Ice-blue eyes were shocked at the look in his eyes. She sighed, she really didn't think he had done some thing that bad, she felt her heart drop, poor Vulturepaw, all this he had to deal with. She touched his shoulder with her tail. " I don't think you did any thing wroung at all." She said, and she belived it. She smiled warmly and warped her tail around her paws. Her face a bit red. She stood and disapered into the medicine den.

Swiftstar looked at the apprentices. "Vulturepaw," he hissed, looking at his apprentice in dismay, "get your tail over here or we won't go out for training at all." the black and white tom shook his head and looked at Sharptounge as he caught Featherpaw going back into the medicine cat's den. "Continue Sharptounge." he said, looking at the she-cat.

Sharptounge looked at Vulturepaw. Was he hiding something? She was going to talk about ShadowClan moving the border. Only, the scent wasn't ShadowClan. It was the scent of... a different clan?

"I didn't say anything!" Featherpaw cried. "I don't think you did anything horrible, I just think you did something!"
Vulturepaw growled uneasily as the she-cat rested her tail-tip on his shoulder apologetically. "I don't think you did anything wrong at all," she promised. Without waiting for his reply, Featherpaw disappeared into the medicine cat's den.
Vulturepaw blinked his amber eyes in surprise. No cat had ever been that way to him before. And he had never felt this way before...A confusing feeling coiled and twisted in his heart like a writhing snake, throbbing painfully as if it were a gaping wound. Vulturepaw had no idea of what emotion this could be. Maybe that's because he almost never had emotions other than anger, rage, fury, and white-hot hate. But it was definitely there, burning and struggling to make him realize what it was. It was unmistakably there.
"Vulturepaw," Swiftstar hissed, making the young tabby tom jump a bit, "get your tail over here or we won't go out for training at all." Vulturepaw scowled at his demanding leader and mentor, then turned around and slunk over to him and crouched on the ground, his broad, powerful shoulders hunched over the grass below his body.
"Continue, Sharptongue," Swiftstar said to the calico she-cat. Sharptongue looked at Vulturepaw again, that same suspicion that he despised sparkling in her pools. He knew she was going to say something about him. He just knew it.

Sharptounge looked at Vuturepaw. "I have to talk to you alone Swiftstar. It is about the ShadowClan border. Nothing to do with any cat in ThunderClan," she directed the last sentence toward Vulturepaw.

"Come into my den, we'll talk about it there." the black and white tom said, turning to his apprentice,"Vulturepaw, keep an eye on the camp while I'm talking with Sharptounge." Swiftstar turned toward his den and flicked his tail, signaling the she-cat to follow him.

Sharptounge troted into Swiftstar's den. The calico she-cat tucked her paws and tail underneath her. Sharptounge looked at Swiftstar. "Well, I went on patrol with two other warriors. They went to RiverClan border, not trusting our new allies, and I went to the ShadowClan border, where the real threats are. I got to the border, but..." the warrior's voice broke off.

"I have to talk to you alone, Swiftstar," Sharptongue mewed quietly. "It is about the ShadowClan border. Nothing to do with any cat in ThunderClan." She rested her hard gaze upon Vulturepaw, directing her last words toward him. The tabby apprentice felt his muscles loosen in relief, and he sighed deeply. I thought she'd caught me, he thought to himself, suddenly wanting to laugh out loud at how mousebrained he'd been to be so worried about the calico she-cat 'tattling' on him. He was surprised with himself for being worried, for he didn't think what he was doing was wrong - or at least that's what he tried to think. But deep down inside, Vulturepaw knew he shouldn't be doing what he was. "Come into my den, we'll talk about it there," Swiftstar said. He turned to face Vulturepaw. "Vulturepaw, keep an eye on the camp while I'm talking to Sharptongue," the WindClan leader ordered his apprentice. The young tom nodded, then turned around to repeatedly scan the camp back and forth with his amber pools, as Swiftstar and Sharptongue entered the leader's den and disappeared from sight. But if Sharptongue wasn't going to tell Swiftstar anything about him - she didn't even know what he had been doing - what was the warrior going to say? Vulturepaw waited with eagerness for the two hidden cats to finish speaking so he could ask Swiftstar what it was. If his mentor wouldn't tell him, he would at least know it was something important that only warriors should be involved with. ((Hey everyone, like the new banner? I made it for Snowy. )
