Vulturepaw rose to his paws groggily, his jaws gaping open in a huge yawn. He had just awoken from a long, peaceful nap in the apprentices' den, the only uninterrupted sleep he'd had in awhile. A yowl from outside the den had alerted him - if you could call the state he was in 'alert' - and he was torn from his...well, rather strange dream. He had been parading proudly through a dark forest, the glowing evil eyes of many cats everywhere he looked. But oddly enough, he hadn't been scared. Then he had come upon a clearing, where a massive dark brown tabby with amber eyes, identical to himself, had sat, staring at him with a twisted grin of bloodlust on his maw and a murderous gleam in his eye. He had given Vulturepaw a curt nod, and disappeared, but a deep voice still spoke after the cat was gone, and it said for reasons Vulturepaw didn't understand, "Good luck, and don't disappoint me."
Vulturepaw shook his head to clear his mind of his troublesome thoughts. He stretched, purring in luxury, then pushed through the screening of brambles that hung over the entrance to the apprentices' den and meandered out into the heart of the camp. Swiftstar was sitting atop the Highledge, many cats gathered beneath the jutting-out rock, and Fawnkit was sitting straight with a proud grin on her face. Vulturepaw couldn't help but smile with amusement at the young she-kit's excitement, for he assumed today was the day she was going to be made an apprentice.
The tabby tomcat padded over to the almost apprentice she-cat, sitting down beside her. He looked up at Swiftstar briefly, glancing from side to side to see who was in the crowd already, then looked down at Fawnkit.
"Be ready, Fawnkit," he cautioned, "because warrior training is hard work. Make sure to pay close attention to your mentor, and always do as they say." He grinned happily, pointing with his nose up at the Highledge. "Swiftstar's my mentor. I just know you'll be a great warrior one day, Fawnkit. You've always given me that feeling."
Vulturepaw flinched and his whole heart seemed to melt as he caught sight of Featherpaw, the medicine cat apprentice of ThunderClan. He and her were sharing a forbidden love, disobeying the warrior code, their Clan, and StarClan; they were from the same Clan, yes, but it was forbidden for medicine cats to love. And they were both so young, afraid, and vulnerable. They didn't know what to do...
The young tom swallowed hard and sat up straight, trying with much difficulty to keep his affection for his beloved Featherpaw hidden from everyone; his Clanmates, cats from other Clans, even a passing rogue. No one could know!

Dawnfire nodded to Swiftstar. She got to her paws and started to wards the nursery. On her way, she saw Stormwhisker. She dropped her gaze to the ground and smiled slightly. She wanted to stop and talk but had to hurry and get Sharptongue and her kits.
Fawnkit waited shifting slightly from paw to paw.She turned her head as Vulturepaw sat down beside her. "Be ready, Fawnkit, because warrior training is hard work. Make sure to pay close attention to your mentor, and always do as they say Swiftstar's my mentor." She regarded his words greatly. She would listen and learn if it would make her as great of an apprentice as he was.His last few words made her smile impishly. I just know you'll be a great warrior one day, Fawnkit. You've always given me that feeling." Did Vulturepaw really think she would make a great warrior? Her eyes sparkled as she thought about how awesome ThunderClan would be with warriors like Vulturepaw and herself.

The young silver striped she-cat saw Vulturepaw walk into the clearing and sit next to Fawinkit, her body seemed to work against her and skake with happiness. Featherpaw stopped it though, she could show any feeling with Iceclover or her father, Mudpelt on either side of her!
She couldn't help but smile though, she turned to her father still smiling, "Fawnkit is going to be great!" she said, making look as if her smile was about the kit, witch it was, Featherpaw was very happy for the kit who would soon be an apprentice soon.
Featherpaw looked to see that there was more space closer up, and close to the dark tabby she was in love with. She looked at Mudpelt then to Iceclover, "I'm going to move closer, I want to talk to Fawnkit." She said and stood up. She limped over to the other side of Fawnkit, her shoulder was still hurting her. She leaned down to Fawnkit, "Your going to be amazing. As an apprentice and a warrior." She meowed."Just do as your told." She added hastly.
She smiled and started to purr. She glanced at Vulturepaw her blue eyes sparkling with happiness, "Hello." She said and warped her tail around her paw. She glanced away and up at the leader. Not trying to show to much intrest in Vulturepaw, and so far she hadn't makeing it hard for anyone to see how deeply in love she was with him.
Mudpelt had stayed where he was letting his daughter go off. He yawned and looked up at the leader waiting for things to get started.

Vulturepaw nearly melted into a pool of quivering water as Featherpaw walked up to him and Fawnkit, leaning down to the she-kit and murmering something not audible to the dark tabby's ears.
"Hello," the medicine cat apprentice greeted him casually, though through his ears Vulturepaw could detect so much more than nothing, for he knew what Featherpaw's simple 'hello' really meant between them: Love, affection, and care so strong that one would put their own life on the line for the other.
"H-h-hi, F-F-Featherpaw," Vulturepaw stuttered feebly, his whole body shaking and his whiskers trembling like a newborn kit exposed to a cold leaf-bare wind. But he forcefully shoved away his nervousness and uncontrollable stammering and quivering as if he were a leaf, very much aware of the many gazes that burned into his pelt as he acted so strangely. The worried tom swallowed hard and took a deep, cleansing breath, looking over at Featherpaw bravely. "Um..." he tried again in a calmer voice, his throat dry and sore already from holding back everything he wanted to cry out to the moon-furred fae. "N-nice to see you, Featherpaw." His voice was slow and steady, though he couldn't prevent one little stutter. "It should be great to have Fawnkit in the apprentices' den, too. She'll do wonderfully at her training, don't you think?"
Vulturepaw couldn't help but feel relieved; he had spoken multiple sentences to the she-cat he loved, the only one that would make him nearly die whenever she came near, and now he was done - until she responded and he'd have to say something back, of course. Her ocean hued orbs would bore deep into his own autumn shaded pools, digging into his soul, and her silver pelt would brush against his. Featherpaw could make him break into millions of pieces.

Featherpaw saw that the dark tabby washaving trouble controling himself, she listened as he stammered then made his words steay and strong. She thought for a momment.
"Do you have a fever Vulturepaw? I can get you some Feverfew afterwards if you would like." She said smiling. 'Yes Fawnkis is going to be wonderful to have." She added soothingly smiling at the kit. She looked at Vulturepaw, the strong tom cat made her lose her mind! She wanted to use Goldenrod instead of poppy seeds when caring for a cat. She wanted to be able to fun off and enjoy hunting with him in the middle of the day, But her life wouldn't let the joyfull dream happen. She always had to be reminded and sucked back to the real world where she study under the watchful eyes of her mentor and other cats.
StarClan wouldn't approve and she felt alone and scarred but Vulturepaw ment more then the whole Clan together! She loved him so much and yet she couldn't let anyone know. It hurt her inside but loseing Him would hurt more. If a angry dog had him connered she would lept at a heartbeat and taking the final blow. While thinking her own strong will to hid it broke down.
She felt like the next time she would talk it would be mummbled and stammered. She glanced away to try in calm her self but she couldn't help she looked back. Her blue swirled and danced wth many feelings. Love, hate, and fear, and even more swirled in her eyes and deep in her heart. She wan't to yowl out, she felt like she was going to burst. She had to stay clam though.
"I-I-I think I may have a fever my self." She said and placed her tail to her head.

"Do you have a fever Vulturepaw?" Featherpaw asked, making Vulturepaw tilt his head to the side in confusion. "I can get you some Feverfew afterwards if you would like. Yes, Fawnkit is going to be wonderful to have."
Vulturepaw was silent for a moment, but then a warm smile flashed across his maw as he realized what the silvery she-cat was doing; they would be alone in the medicine cat's den, and they would be able to have one of the few moments where they didn't have to keep their precious love hidden from the forest.
"I-I-I think I may have a fever myself," Featherpaw stammered, resting her tail on her head. Vulturepaw purred lovingly, but kept it quiet enough so only the femme could hear.
"Well, let's get Fawnkit apprenticed!" he growled in aggitation, glaring up at Swiftstar challengingly. "We don't have all day!"
((Ohhhhh, Haaaaaaawk! ;D))

"Today, a kit has reached her six moons of age, and it's time for her to become an apprentice," Swiftstar announced, gazing down at the thick crowd of cats watching him from beneath the Highledge. "Fawnkit, please step forward."
Vulturepaw knew the young she-cat must be aware of the many eyes that now burned into her pelt ((What color is she again?)); everyone's attention was turned to little Fawnkit, waiting for her to walk the one tail-length that would lead to her future warriorship.

"Today, a kit has reached her six moons of age, and it's time for her to become an apprentice. Fawnkit, please step forward." Swiftstar meowed, glancing down at the young kit.
Morningwhisker's eyes twinkled as she looked down at Fawnkit, suppressing a purr. You'll do well, little one, she thought, before wondering who Fawnkit's mentor would be.

Fawnkit regarded Vulturepaw and Featherpaw as they exchanged greetings. She thought nothing of it and turned her attention back to Swiftstar. She gave her spotted creamy pelt a quick groom. Today, a kit has reached her six moons of age, and it's time for her to become an apprentice. Fawnkit, please step forward the words thundered in her ears. Fawnkit's heart beat quickly as she went forward to join Swiftstar. She stood quietly, jolts of energy urged her to move but she fought the urge and waited eagerly to find out who her mentor would be.

Swiftstar watched as the kit stepped forward.
"Fawnkit, do you promise to protect and defend your Clan whenever needed, to respect, listen to, and obey your mentor, and to train to become a warrior of ThunderClan?" he asked the apprentice.

Fawnkit listened closely. After a brief moment of thought she dipped her head."Yes Swiftstar," she replied confidently. This was her chance! Now she could show her Clan how loyal she was!No more doubts about my past she thought with a fierce sparkle of determination in her eyes.
Dawnfire raced out of the nursury when she had finished talking with Sharptongue. She sat at the back not wanting to stir attention. She watched Fawnkit closely.

"Yes Swiftstar," the kit replied.
"Then, from this day forward, until she has earned her warrior name, she will be known as Fawnpaw for her fawn colored pelt." Swiftstar yowled, " Morningwhisker, you are a young and loyal warrior Your mentor has taught you well. Pass on all your knowledge and attribute to this apprentice as her mentor."
